Associated Engineering offers new Infrastructure Management System software
March 2009
Associated Engineering has constructed a WEB-delivered asset inventory and costing application for municipal and commercial infrastructure and facility assets. AssetNav is web-delivered software that helps Engineers, Operators, and Financial Administrators manage their infrastructure assets via a sustainable management regime.
AssetNav allows utilities to maintain and monitor the condition state of their asset inventory in a user friendly and intuitive fashion. AssetNav offers lifecycle costing, criticality and consequence of failure ratings and priority replacement prioritization programs across all common municipal and commercial infrastructure types. The software also allows for the attachment of any widnows compliant file, drawings, spreadsheets, CCTV videos etc..
The software allows utilities and owners to monitor the depreciated and historical value of their tangible capital assets in addition to their condition state.., AssetNav allows for the production of statements for the purposes of meeting Public Sector Accounting Board Section 3150 reporting requirements. - Modular construction will adapt to any type of infrastructure asset in any business environment.
- Simple, quick and intuitive access to infrastructure, facility, and land asset attribute, cost and condition information in one convenient location.
- Dynamic location-based relationships between disparate infrastructure networks and types on a live and continuous basis
- Embedded GIS functionality for non GIS experts.

Transparent and defensible Assessment Management Strategy
prepared for Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities
January 2008
In the last issue of AE Today, we reported that the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities in conjunction with Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation (SHT) had retained Associated Engineering to complete a bridge and culvert strategic asset management study on their behalf. The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities owns and maintains 3900 bridges and culverts located throughout Saskatchewan.
SHT required a strategic asset management plan for managing and maintaining the structures. A key objective of the study was to develop a unified service level and performance objectives for the structures. In addition, SHT wanted to be able to establish a methodology for prioritizing structural repairs or rehabilitation so that appropriate funding could be determined.
Associated Engineering Asset Management group delivers non-proprietary database
and GIS-based, decision-making system
2008
Associated Engineering’s Asset Management/GIS group employs a holistic or global method to assess individual assets and networks in a given system using advanced spatial, location-based, and relational database techniques to identify comparative ratings inside and outside each system being examined. Individual ratings are derived using balanced condition arrays.
