About GeoAssets
GeoAssets Ltd. was formed in 2007 to specifically address the market need for a low cost and high value, open format, web enabled infrastructure management tool, for commercial, municipal, provincial and federal agencies.
Our AssetNav software development and implementation group is supported by the AE group of companies who offer the collective experiences and talents of over 750 Engineers, Scientists and Technologists in the field of Strategic and Tactical Asset Management.
All of our products use best of breed, transparent and configurable open source underlying technology within an engineered application environment to ensure that all of our applications provide:

Our Approach
GeoAssets relied on its members' extensive experience in the Asset Management industry for the creation of its unique approach. The approach employed by both its services and software solutions differs and improves upon traditional approaches used throughout the Asset Management industry.
The Black Box
Traditional methodologies regarding software and proprietary process revolve around the premise of a "black box". This approach encapsulates the inner workings of the solution making it difficult to retrieve information that wasn’t defined at project inception or to incorporate future functional enhancements.
GeoAssets recognizes that current software offerings from traditional software providers often fail for the following reasons:
- Steep learning curve and training requirements
- High capital and ongoing maintenance costs
- Proprietary information storage
- No or limited GIS and mapping functionality
The above reasons result in a scenario where the proposed solution is never complete and creates an overall feeling of dissatisfaction and frustration by the users.

Solution Frameworks
GeoAssets has multiple frameworks available for our solutions to reside in:
AssetNav: A report-based system with built in mapping, providing the tools to make effective asset management decisions.
AssetNav Lite: A map-based system for the update, display and querying of attribute data.
IMS template: A simple, inexpensive template with limited functionality.
Other: GeoAssets will put resulting information into any appropriate system.
360° Imaging
GeoAssets uses sophisticated but simple techniques as solutions to engineering applications. 360° imaging provides our clients with navigable images like virtual tours, allowing operators and engineers to remotely view a facility from an "if you were standing there" point of view. These tours can be linked into AssetNav or our other solutions allowing for seamless integration between the images and the information.
