Our Solution - AssetNav
AssetNav is designed around one fundamental premise: any and all staff should have access to clear and consistent infrastructure information in the equivalent of three mouse clicks or within 30 seconds from the time of inquiry. In addition the user should have the ability to map the results of the inquiry without any specialized or proprietary software.
AssetNav is constructed in industry standard and non proprietary software that allows the user the flexibility to move their information to another platform when and if the need arises. AssetNav currently supports the following functionality:
- Asset inventory for all common infrastructure classes.
- User defined inquiries based on all available information.
- User defined active mapping.
- Asset costing and financial planning.
- Lifecycle costing and capital planning.
- Service life assessments.
- Ability to add asset via user inputted handheld GPS coordinates.
- Ability to group assets based on their physical proximity without the need for user defined relationships i.e. Display all of the infrastructure, its condition and value, irrespective of type, that is in close proximity to a given road section.
- Ability to juxtapose asset condition, life and value in the decision making process.
- Seamless batch integration with most financial software.
All of this and additional functionality is presented in a non threatening and intuitive Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox viewer format. Training for the software is provided in a half day or four hour session. AE has significantly reduced the training requirement for AssetNav by employing software engineering techniques that take into account all prospective user levels in the delivery of the software interface.
Results are presented in clickable and intuitive graphs and tables for ease of use and portability to the users desktop. Graphics within the software are linked to the data set responsible for the production of the bar on the chart.
All information contained in the AssetNav application can be copied and pasted using standard Windows copy and paste functions to the user’s desktop via any other Microsoft application including but not limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
The location or locations of any group of asset, whether the group is predefined or the result of a dynamic query, can be shown at any point in time via the embedded GIS functionality.
AssetNav allows the user to group assets, condition and valuation information pertaining to those assets in a logical fashion according to their positions relative to the asset of interest. This allows replacement and or rehabilitation decisions to incorporate surrounding items regardless of what they are.
